Yellow Royal Poinciana（Delonix regia var. flavida キバナホウオウボク）と英語の一般名がよく似ているのでややこしいのですが、全く赤の他人（同じジャケツイバラ科ではあるのですが）。
蛇足ながら、少なくとも南フロリダで口語的に"Poinciana"と言うと、十中八九はRoyal Poinciana（Delonix regia ホウオウボク）のことをさすようです。
